Our karate program was introduced in the small town of Cambridge, New York, in 1979. Classes are designed to equip students with all the necessary qualities, skills, abilities, ethics, and integrity that a martial arts program should offer.
Our Association was established with the desire to branch out locally with instructors that began their journey in the martial arts here at the Honbu Dojo in Cambridge. These instructors had the heart-felt desire to share their experience with others, not to mention carry on the same ethics and love for the art both within and outside the Dojo.
We are a family-oriented school with combinations of family members and/or individuals. Although we do not have students under contract, many of them have trained with us for 5 to 25 years with fifteen reaching various levels of black belt.
As many as 800 students have studied with us, aging from 7 to 70 years, and we continue to receive feedback from parents and students reflecting the positive effects of their training experiences.
We are the program that Shihan Louis Stanishia recognizes and currently supports here in Cambridge since 1979. Our system is blended from Shihan’s training in Japanese Goju Ryu and Shorin Ryu in the Phillipines with Latino Gonzales, and Shihan’s Shotokan studies and Kendo background. Shihan also operated a Kendo school along with various martial arts programs in Westchester, New York, since 1967 until he relocated to upstate New York in 1995. We have enjoyed the honored privilege to be associated with and tutored by this highly accredited, respected, supportive, and loving “Sensei”.
